Having qualified as a G.P in 1969 at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, I spent my first few years working in a mission hospital in the Northern Transvaal.  There I was trained in anaesthetics and gained much experience in tropical medicine, tuberculosis, occupational health, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics and geriatrics. During this time I developed a keen interest in collecting and studying indigenous trees as I have always had a love for botany

In 19711 moved to the Western Cape and worked in Paarl hospital. There I did 20 years of orthopaedic anaesthetic work involving hip replacements, trauma, hand and foot surgery and general orthopaedic work. During this time I also started my own private practice in Wellington, South Africa, doing anaesthetics for my own patients for general surgery, ENT and obstetrics.

For 5 years I worked in a deprived township area where I did a great deal of community work. I also worked sessions at the local hospital in paediatrics and A+E. My final 2 years in South Africa were spent in Alexander Bay, which is a diamond mining town with its own, very remote hospital. There I was the hospital superintendant and was again involved in emergency medicine, surgery, anaesthetics, ENT, obstetrics and management. In 2001 we immigrated to England, and having passed all the entry requirements to allow me to practice medicine in the U.K.

I joined the Jubilee Medical Group as a partner and during my time here I gained a special interest qualification in ENT in London. After living here for 5 years we gained our status as fully fledged British citizens.

I am happily married with 6 children, the oldest 4 of which are all married with children of their own. We are settled in the country and have really become well established here with many wonderful friends. I love cycling especially in all weathers as we can expect and usually cycle daily to work. Reading, walking, horse riding and local church are all things I enjoy doing especially with my family. I also have a great interest in insects, plants, gardening and D.I.Y — There’s not always enough time!!

I completed my vocational training as a GP in Austria and moved to England together with my family in 2005. One of my best friends and colleague was diagnosed with Diabetes whist being at University. Since then I have a strong interest in Diabetes, clinically and with research.

Together with our excellent nursing staff I am leading the Diabetes clinic at Jubilee Medical Group. Outside work I am enjoying family life with our three children. When there is some spare time (which is rarely) I enjoy cycling.

I qualified in India (1997) and went on to obtain my post graduate MD in Medicine in 2002. I completed my vocational training in general practice in Hereford 2007 and have recently joined the practice as a full time GP. I enjoy the variety in General Practice, particularly cardiology & neurology. I also have a special interest in minor surgery, joint injections and contraception (Implanon and IUCD fitting). I take a keen interest in education and clinical governance.

I am married and have one daughter. I enjoy spending time with my family. My outside interests include exploring the countryside, travelling & swimming.

Since graduating in 2003 from Dundee I have moved back home to the North East with my husband Mark. I have worked in Bishop Auckland General and Darlington Memorial since then, but began working as a GP in 2006 after having my little girl.

I gained my MRCGP qualification with distinction in February 2008 and have specialist interests in sexual health, diabetes, cardiology and gastro-intestinal medicine I look forward to my long and happy life here at Jubilee.

I started my nursing career in 1978. I have a degree in nursing, a district nursing diploma, a teaching certificate and I am an independent nurse prescriber. I have additional qualifications which enable me to diagnose, treat & prescribe for minor illness, family planning & chronic disease including respiratory diseases and diabetes.

I have been a practice manager for 15 years and have worked across three different PCT areas This has given me a sound basis on the inequalities in some of the localities and how they affect our patients

Over the years I have always enjoyed my job as practice manager and have been rewarded in knowledge that our patients are offered and provided with good clinical care

The receptionists and administrative staff are your link with the rest of the practice; they will try in every way to help you, and the more information you give them, the better they will be able to assist you Our staff always aim to be courteous, and we greatly value their contribution to the smooth running of the surgery
