ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) Service 
The practice now runs a weekly ENT clinic’s on behalf of the Primary Care Trust. Dr Prinsloo and his colleagues accept referrals from other GPs in the area, treating patients who would previously had to have been referred to hospital.
Mr Leon Lindsey, Consultant ENT Surgeon, City Hospital Sunderland and Dr Mark Welsh, Bewick Cresent Surgery work with Dr Prinsloo at Cobblers Hall, Shildon and Bishopgate Medical Centre.
Minor Surgery
Minor Surgery is done by Dr Prinsloo and Dr Jose as well as Dr Baliga, a Shildon GP who operates at Newton Aycliffe on Thursday afternoons. He has a special interest and experience in surgery.
A range of minor operations can be performed within our modern and well-equipped treatment room.
Some of our GPs are also trained in joint injection techniques and these are performed as part of normal treatment in surgery time.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen freezing) is offered on Thursday afternoons by Leanne Phillips, Treatment Room Nurse. This is useful for the removal of small lesions such as warts.
Teenage Health Clinic
The teenage health clinic takes place on a Wednesday between 15.30 and 18.00 at Cobblers Hall. It is run by nurses and is a completely confidential service. No one else can find out what has been discussed however we may have to consult other professionals to offer you the right support and help. We would discuss this first with you.
It is a drop in clinic so you may wish to bring a friend. There is no need to therefore make an appointment. We also offer a telephone consultation service which is available if cannot attend the clinic.

- Plus other general advice.
Travel Advice and Vaccinations
We run a travel clinic on Thursday afternoon’s from
14.00 – 14.50. Vaccinations are recommended for many countries you may travel too. We can advise you over the telephone whether or not you will need vaccinations depending on your destination. We can then organise an appointment for you to come to the practice for your vaccinations if necessary.
